TIN MAN REVEALS IT TAKES BRITS 27 YEARS TO BE HAPPY AT WORK

Warning - your back to work January blues might be about to get temporarily worse: we’ve just uncovered the fact that most British workers aren’t totally satisfied with their job until they’re 45 years old. Yup – just the 27 years at the grindstone on average.

We commissioned the research for global job site Indeed as part of our ongoing strategy to build brand love and a deeper emotional engagement with jobseekers.

The research also uncovered that it takes eight different roles and four major knock-backs to get to that middle-aged point of satisfaction. But, despite this shared experience, a quarter of us actively avoid talking about workplace setbacks with our friends and family because of embarrassment.

The good news is we’re not about to leave you and the rest of Indeed’s target job seeking audience wallowing in misery. To supplement our media relations campaign, and position Indeed as a workers’ champion, we’ve created a podcast series exploring how setbacks at work, moving jobs or changing careers can actually pave the way for a brighter future.

‘Some You Win’ is a four-part series hosted by careers writer Emma Gannon. The podcast sees the likes of Elle Editor-in-Chief Farrah Storr, musician/author Akala, ‘S.A.S Who Dares Wins’ star Jason Fox  and BBC broadcaster Rachel Burden, explore their personal and professional wins and losses.

Each episode is an inspirational exploration of how adversity can be turned into a positive experience and shows that whilst ‘some you win, and some you lose’ both experiences can motivate you to achieve bigger and better things.

Check out the podcasts on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts and Spotify, with vlog casts available at  www.indeedpodcasts.com.
