TIN MAN AND SMART ENERGY GB GET NERDY WITH NUMBERS FOR BIG ENERGY SAVING WEEK

Did you get your eight hours sleep last night? How many calories did last weekend’s takeaway add and just how many steps will it take to burn it off? As a nation we’re obsessed with tracking all aspects of our lives. From steps to sleep, fitness to food, we spend 183 hours – that’s ONE WEEK every year – monitoring minutiae, according to Tin Man's research for Smart Energy GB.

 

Our media relations campaign is part of our ongoing Smart Energy GB strategy to drive  drive reappraisal and encourage uptake of smart meters.   

As part of the report, we also revealed that, while the average Brit uses six tracking apps to catalogue and chronicle every moment of their lives, the desire for detail doesn’t stretch to measuring the impact our energy use has on the environment, although half admit they want to do more but don't know where to start. 

 

To help position Smart Energy GB as source of consumer support, we worked with comedian and all-round energy nerd Mark Watson to help Brits become savvy about energy saving, providing hints and tips as part of a media package which generated widespread cut through for our client.
