INTRODUCING VIRGIN MEDIA’S ‘CLUB REWIND’: A CONNECTED CLUB EXPERIENCE FOR MUSIC FANS

We’ve announced the launch of Virgin Media’s Club Rewind, the UK’s first connected club experience taking place simultaneously in London and Glasgow on Wednesday 22nd September, powered by its gigabit broadband service, Gig1.

Club Rewind welcomes legendary DJs Pete Tong and Carl Cox to recreate the world-famous musical era of noughties Ibiza, which was voted on social media as the club night fans would most like to relive. It has been designed to connect all music-lovers, including non-customers, from different generations through their shared love of the Balearic beats. 

Taking place between 7pm and midnight, simultaneous sets will be played 400 miles apart with the DJs going back-to-back from separate locations, without lag, thanks to Virgin Media’s gigabit broadband service, Gig1. The Club Rewind locations will be connected allowing the crowds to share the experience as they enjoy a ‘virtual set’, with music fans also able to tune into the event from home.

Pete Tong will play in London, supported by his daughter, Becky Tong, while Carl Cox will headline Glasgow’s event, with special guests to be announced.  The legendary Ibiza DJs will alternate songs for a shared set, with Virgin Media’s hyperfast gigabit broadband powering advanced technology that manages the outputs of both the master and headphones, resulting in the ultimate beatmatching.

Carl Cox said: “I’m looking forward to getting up on the Club Rewind stage and joining Pete for a virtual B2B as we play some of Ibiza’s most iconic anthems and stir up some of those magical memories from the island we love”.

Taking inspiration from the latest ad, Virgin Media carried out a poll* to find the club era people would most like to relive, with early noughties Ibiza house coming out on top.

The unmissable sets from Ibiza legends Pete Tong and Carl Cox will be powered by Gig1 as we use world-leading technology to connect two clubs at opposite ends of the UK, with music-lovers also able to tune in from home.
