GUIDE DOGS - CREATING A VISUAL MEMORY LIST FOR THOSE LOSING THEIR SIGHT

Every day 250 people in the UK start to lose their sight. Our latest work with charity Guide Dogs saw us raise awareness of this and demonstrate how sight loss doesn’t prevent people from living a full, independent life.

65-year-old guide dog owner Tiggi Trethowan has 6% of her eyesight left following a diagnosis of glaucoma. Guide Dogs, alongside SAS TV star Billy Billingham, surprised Tiggi at Go Ape Bracknell by giving her a chance to complete an experience from her visual memory list (a list of things people would like to see or do before losing their sight).

To complete her adventure, Billy supported Tiggi around the Treetop Challenge, where she experienced canopy-high tree-to-tree crossings, free-fall Tarzan swings and epic zip-lining.

Content of Tiggi, Billy and Alex Pepper, Head of Accessibility at Guide Dogs, taking part in the Treetop Challenge, was released to media alongside research revealing Brit’s top 20 things they’d like to see or experience if they found out they were losing their sight.
