We’re delighted to have helped Comfort Cases UK, partner with its first ever celebrity ambassador, actor and TVpresenter Joe Swash, today.
Comfort Cases UK provides children entering the care system with a bag of bespoke belongings (comfort cases) they can call their own, from books to PJs, toiletries, soft toys, blankets and even sim cards for teenagers. Joe is a natural ambassador for the charity, due to his long-standing, personal connection with the crucial work of foster carers as his mother has been one for over 15 years.
As well as brokering the partnership, we’ve been delighted to help Comfort Cases UK with their media relations around the announcement. The work is part of our pro-bono PR consultancy and support that we offer the charity. Our founder and CEO Mandy Sharp is also one of Comfort Cases UK’s trustees.
Every year, 36,000 new children enter the care system, equating to one child every 15 minutes. Often children are moved under emergency circumstances with a little more than the clothes on their back.
Joe Swash commented: “Kids in the care system has always been something at the forefront of my family with my mum being a foster carer. Seeing the difference that love, attention, and stability can make to a child as a result of foster care is amazing. This is why I’m delighted to be able to continue raising awareness of the challenges affecting children in care through my work with Comfort Cases UK. These comfort cases are invaluable and offer far more than just the items inside – they offer a sense of belonging, safety, and security to children when everything is crumbling around them.”
